A sudden storm has caught us unawares. While hastily taking cover, we marvel at our own unpreparedness. We huddle together seeking shelter and solace.
The storm passes. Emerging, we see that sunlight is again upon the land. We examine our surroundings; it seems like everything has been dampened. We begin to put things right, and vow to be better prepared next time. Then with uplifted eyes we see the world anew. The same sky that brought sadness now brings beauty and the rebirth of hope. We are reminded that it will always be thus. Even through our darkest hour, earth abides ... and beauty survives.
