The Last Frontier Trading Post was purchased by Ella Blackwell in 1955, and was renamed Ella's Frontier. This section of Route 66 was bypassed by Interstate 40 in 1969 and Ella's closed soon afterward; now only the deserted buildings remain.

I40 Exit 269: Jackrabbit Trading Post

[bizarre_66hol-win_7395.jpg]
For hundreds of miles along the Interstate, mysterious rabbit billboards used to give the mileage to the Jackrabbit Trading Post. Finally, HERE IT IS!

Even the building has a giant rabbit.
