Wander among the restored historic buildings at the Castle Dome Mines Museum; each one has a story to tell about the local history. But beware the miner's shack down at the end, for inside you will find the ancient fellow seen here. I don't know what his story is, and I didn't stick around long enough to find out -- the dude is downright creepy.
Directions: The Castle Dome Mines Museum is private property within the boundaries of Kofa National Wildlife Refuge in southwestern Arizona, approximately 35 miles northeast of Yuma off of Highway 95. The last few miles to the site are a graded dirt road. A modest admission fee is charged.
