Rumor has it that a taller fountain was recently built in St. Louis, so maybe this is now the World's Second-Tallest Fountain. But who's counting? It's impressive anyway! When run at the max, this baby reaches a height of 560 feet. OK, they typically run it somewhat lower, but it's still impressive! The show starts every hour on the hour during daylight hours, and runs for about 15 minutes. And, as they say, it can be seen for miles around. The photo below shows the fountain as seen from McDowell Peak, a distance of 7 miles (the pinnacle at the upper left is Weaver's Needle in the Superstition Mountains). DARNED impressive!
