London Bridge

Lake Havasu City, Arizona

What is it about the desert that encourages harebrained schemes? A millionaire not only bought London Bridge, but had it moved from the Thames River to the Arizona desert and reassembled stone by stone. There didn't happen to be a suitable river in the vicinity for the bridge to span, so a boating channel on the edge of the Colorado River had to suffice. Now you can walk across the bridge yourself and ponder this monument to Mankind's limitless capability to pursue inexplicable endeavors! Up close, you can still see the numbers that were marked on each brick so they could be put back in the right order. Incredible!
