I spotted this giant paisano as I drove Interstate 10 into the town of Las Cruces. As it turns out, this is claimed to be the world's largest roadrunner, measuring 15 feet high and about 50 feet long. It was constructed by artist Olin Calk from junk, I mean recycled material, and was originally located at the Las Cruces dump. Now it stands by the side of the freeway, forever running to keep up with the cars zooming past.
Directions: Rest area on the south side of Interstate 10, between mile markers 134 and 135, west of Las Cruces.
