Giant Rabbits

Have giant jackrabbits invaded downtown Tempe? No, this is a set of bronze sculptures by Mark Rossi entitled Three Blacktail Jackrabbits. The humongous hares have been in place since 1993; two years later they were joined by a sculpture of a little girl, also by Rossi: Caitlin depicts Caitlin Robb, who died of cancer in 1995 at the age of two.

Directions: Behind the shops in the plaza on the northwest corner of Mill Avenue & University Drive.

Last visited: February 2009.

The invasion continues! Recently, I noticed another giant jackrabbit, on the lawn in front of a Chandler housing development:
