Tiny Los Angeles

[bizarre_tinyla1.jpg]

Los Angeles, California

This incredibly-detailed scale model of downtown Los Angeles was constructed in the late 1930's as a project of the Works Progress Administration (WPA). It accurately represents the downtown area circa 1940, before the era of the skyscraper; City Hall can be seen at left center. The model is on display in the Hall of California History in the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

Directions: The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County is located at 900 Exposition Boulevard; an admission fee is charged.
