The Wall Guy

Tucson, Arizona

If good fences make good neighbors, as they say, then Gary Morrow is a very good neighbor indeed. Needing a wall around his property, he didn't settle for the typical bland barrier. Morrow combined his construction expertise with a generous helping of artistry, and started a "never-ending" project that has attracted admirers from all over -- and gotten him known as "the Wall Guy." Inspired by the local desert, the subjects range from saguaros and ocotillos to cliffs and caves. There's even an entire Native American village with miniature people! The materials are an eye-delighting mix, also: the styrofoam and stucco is adorned with minerals, glass and tiles. Atop the wall perch a metal deer and pterodactyl. Awesome!
