Comet Holmes and the Alpha Persei Cluster

This image taken with a telephoto lens in early December shows Comet Holmes among a particularly rich field of stars in the constellation Perseus. To the lower right of the comet is the Alpha Persei Cluster (also known as Melotte 20 or Collinder 39), whose brightest member is the star Alpha Persei, or Mirfak.
