One of many photogenic nooks I found at the Castle Dome Mines Museum, this barroom arrangement of window, bottles and lamp seems to be waiting for the past to come alive again. Listen carefully, and you can hear the clink of glasses, the tinkling of a player piano, and the sound of distant laughter.
The Castle Dome Mines Museum is private property within the boundaries of Kofa National Wildlife Refuge in southwestern Arizona, approximately 35 miles northeast of Yuma off of Highway 95. The last few miles to the site are a graded dirt road. A modest admission fee is charged.
