Hubbell Trading Post

Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site is a place where present and past meet: a still-running business and a time capsule all rolled into one. Run by the family of patriarch John Lorenzo Hubbell from the 1870's to the 1960's, the trading post still offers for sale Native American rugs, baskets and jewelry, as well as everyday supplies. Because the Hubbell family sold the property directly to the National Park Service in 1967, the Hubbell Home has been preserved with much of the original family furniture and posessions in place. Present-day visitors will get a rare glimpse of the past.

Last Visited: May 2016. Directions: Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site is located at the town of Ganado, in northeast Arizona on the Navajo Reservation. The site is open daily except Thanksgiving, December 25, and January 1. There is no admission charge for the Visitor Center, Trading Post and grounds. Access to the interior of the Hubbell Home is by guided tour only; tours are offered several times a day and a small fee is charged.
