Aspen Country

The photo pulls me back. Late-afternoon sun slanting through the trees. Aspen leaves shimmering. Grass glowing green. I relive the silence, the stillness, the solitude of the moment. The double-track trail winds gently into the forest, leading to other views, and other trails -- each one another inviting mystery. I am drawn endlessly onward, into the undiscovered country.
