Lightning From Back Yard, Monsoon Storm

Phoenix, Arizona, July 17, 1998

This is the type of lightning photography that I do NOT recommend. As you can tell, the lightning bolt is practically overhead. In retrospect, standing in my back yard with my tripod barely under the patio cover was probably pretty foolish. Did I mention it was raining too?
