This might appear to be a normal crescent moon in twilight, but something is definitely wrong! At night, the bright part of a crescent moon is always on the bottom, but in this disorienting view the bright part is on the top! We are actually seeing the partial phase of a lunar eclipse; the bottom half of the rising full moon is covered by the earth's shadow.
