Kitt Peak National Observatory

Far above the desert floor, the summit of Kitt Peak holds the world's largest collection of optical telescopes. The largest dome seen here houses the Mayall 4-meter telescope.

Kitt Peak is located in the Quinlan Mountains, 60 miles southwest of Tucson, Arizona. Daytime and nighttime tours and observing programs are offered. More information may be found at the Kitt Peak web page.
