Once driven to the very brink of extinction and surviving only in captive breeding programs, condors have now been reintroduced into the wild. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is one of the locations where they fly free; I took this photo from the observation deck at Lookout Studio. Each condor has identifying labels on its wings; this particular bird goes by the designation C1.
